Part of me is curious…do you think if Bush hadn’t been such a sucktacular president, that Obama would have won this election?  I know it doesn’t matter – what matters is that he won – but really, if *I* were Obama, I would send Bush a big thank you card. Ha!

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75-year old Texas rancher whose hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, a doctor struck up a conversation with the old man. Eventually the topic got around to Sarah Palin and her bid to be a heartbeat away from being President.

The old rancher said, “Well, ya know, Palin is a post turtle!”

Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a post turtle was.

The old rancher said, “When you’re driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that’s a post turtle.”

The old rancher saw a puzzled look on the doctor’s face, so he continued to explain. “You know she didn’t get up there by herself, she doesn’t belong up there, she doesn’t know what to do while she is up there, and you just have to wonder what kind of dumb ass put her up there to begin with.”

I don’t post a lot about the elections, but if you follow my digg feed you’ll get an idea of how I feel about the election.

For the past year I have been so IN YOUR FACE about my politics with my republican friends, it’s amazing I have any left. I’ve harangued, harassed, and harped on [...]]]> People like to say “liberal” like it’s a dirty word. My mum claims being liberal is “a badge of honor these days.” I tend to agree.

For the past year I have been so IN YOUR FACE about my politics with my republican friends, it’s amazing I have any left. I’ve harangued, harassed, and harped on them about their politics, what it actually means, what they actually believe in, and what the candidates really stand for until no one wants to even bring up any kind of politics (or anything that might possibly lead back to politics) with me.

And two of my friends – staunch republicans – are now voting for Obama.

Now, if I can change someone’s mind – and I have all the political grace of a dump truck when it comes to expressing my opinion – just think of what you diplomatic folks can do!

Change is possible.
