This weekend was probably one of the best I’ve had in awhile – despite my camping trip being called off. Saturday was gorgeous, and I opened all the windows and cleaned my house, went on a nice bike ride, and played a few hours of WoW. I made curry for dinner – homemade massaman, with chili peppers harvested from my little balcony plot! Sunday Laura and I went to The Big E and met up with Eric and Kat for some food and rides – it was ridiculously fun, and I went on my favorite ride twice, and was a very happy adrenalin junkie by the time we left. The funniest thing that happened was when we were walking through the CT building, Laura overheard the following conversation:
Dad: “What building are we in?”
Kid: “Connecticut!”
Dad: “Oh…a state well-known for it’s high gas prices and taxes!
I think I almost lost it laughing when she told me that. Maybe you have to live in CT to understand, but seriously, our taxes are ridiculous, and our gas prices are higher than every other state that borders us! I just got a letter saying I owe $450 in personal property tax on my car – in Florida, there is no such thing as personal property tax (or income tax for that matter) – well, city of Colchester, come on, bring it! You claim you’re going to repo my car and sell it, but since I moved and never updated my registration, you’ll never find me! Muahahaha.
